Last weekend, Per Christian, Jonny, Halvor and myself went to Falun in Sweden to compete in Falumästerskapen 2010.
With a borrowed kayak from NPF it was time to compete in my first competition in over ten years. The results? Well, very happy with the results on Saturday. Came 3rd in the slalom sprint! In the classic slalom discipline on Sunday, I came 6th. Not to happy with that results, I was going for a 4th place. But I guess you can’t expect much when you haven’t done slalom competition in over ten years, and switch boat from Saturday to Sunday. Overall I’m happy with my performance, and there is still a long way to go…
After finishing my kitchen, it was time to get out and enjoy one last beautifully Sunday in September. And what better way to do it, with a training session in a slalom kayak.
Some random Swedish dude came and was wondering if he could take some pictures. Well, I didn’t mind, and thanks to him, these pictures are now on my blog.
One last pictures. Me with full focus on the gate!
Probably not the last time I’m on the water, need to get some time in the new kayak (borrowed from NPF) before heading to Sweden to compete in my first competition in over 10 years! Should be fun!
After Silje had been scouting the river by walking/cycling the whole way from E6 to the lake, she could confirm that it was good to go, and if I dared to paddle it, I would probably have one of the best runs of this year summer road trip…
And guess what, she was right!
More pictures and full report from this year summer road trip will come at a later point,
so stay tuned!
