Generate ssl cert for Microsoft Azure website

This is something you really are nothing doing on a regulary day to day basis… need to make a mental note on how this is done. The extra part this time was to generate pfx files so that you can use it on azure…

## Generate signing request file

openssl genrsa -des3 -out privkey.key 2048
openssl req -new -key privkey.key -out request.csr

## Convert from pkcs7 and export to pfx

openssl pkcs7 -print_certs -in <ssl_certificate.p7b> -out cert.cer
openssl pkcs12 -export -out mydomain.pfx -inkey privkey.key -in cert.cer

Generate the .csr file, upload it to your favourite SSL provider, and get your cert.
Generate .pfx file so that you can upload it to Azure. Case closed! 🙂
